Carolyn has also been really into cooking in her kitchen and helping in mine. She decided she needed some oven mits, and ran to get her winter mittens!

Farm Fun
Carolyn and I went on a field trip with our moms group to a farm! She was super excited about going to see the cows and they were her favorite animal. It was really neat - we could get close enough to all the animals to touch them! Carolyn also enjoyed the hens (one of her favorite books right now is the Little Red Hen) and we even saw some eggs in the henhouse (and purchased some to bring home!). Much to Carolyn's delight, the pigs were in a mud puddle!

Carolyn's First Bike
Carolyn has been asking for a bike for a few weeks now. I wasn't sure what to do about this because bikes are expensive and she's awfully little/young for a bike.
Today at a garage sale Carolyn found a bike. She ran over it to it and said "this is Carolyn's size" very matter of factly. So, Carolyn got a bike and mom and dad are pleased to have spent $3! :)

An Update on Our Plants!
It feels like summer here!
We've enjoyed such a fun spell of GREAT weather for almost 3 weeks now! It truly has felt like summer here! The highs have been in the seventies and we've been in shorts and t-shirts every day. We've enjoyed several trips a week to the park and ice cream!
Zoo!
We took Carolyn to the zoo last Saturday and she had such a great time! It was an hour and a half away, but worth the drive for a fun day for our family!! Hilariously, we found out after the fact that there is a bigger zoo with more animals less than an hour away.... Oh well, that makes for another fun day trip this summer!!

Plants and Popsicles!
Carolyn had a lot of fun today! This morning we started all of our plants in the kitchen. Carolyn had a great time and was in charge of putting in all the seeds. We started peppers, pumpkins, green beans, lettuce, squash, and zucchini. We have them sitting in front of the kitchen windows on cookie sheets. Carolyn checked them several times today, but seems ok with the fact that it's going to take a long time for them to grow. We'll see how patient she can be!
Carolyn was very happy to be helping!
Putting the dirt in the holes
Very carefully putting one seed in each hole
After we planted our seeds, we made pudding Popsicles. I wasn't quite sure how they would be, but as you can tell they turned out great!

Museum
Last week, the moms' group Carolyn and I are part of took a little trip to the childrens museum. She had a lot of fun. She's getting to an age where more and more she interacts with the other kids while she plays, rather than just playing beside them, which has been a lot of fun for me to see. She played a lot with one of her friends putting mail in and out of these mailboxes. (No picture with her friend in it because I don't like to put up other people's kids without permission.)

And a few cute random things from this week....
Carolyn told me this morning that I could not hold her seashell because "It is very special and you might break it!" Apparently, she is much more careful than I am!
Her new favorite game is pretend...she loves to be a dragon or a monster and chase you around the house saying "grr, grrr." Then she instructs Zach or me to say things like "monster don't catch me!"
Zach and Carolyn were watching the neighbor's dog out the back door. Carolyn asked Zach to "open the door so I can give that dog a bone."
